Integrity is one of my favorite words & I used to teach it to my students as much as possible. Integrity, grace, and humor. This is perfect! And we're gonna need lots more.

I have long credited Donald Trump (and his ceaseless damage to everything he touches) for my seriously improved prayer life since his staged descent on an escalator with a paid balcony of well-wishers encouraging his run for the presidency. Yeah: pure cow puckie. What I honestly never expected over the last decade -- with the sneering orange face on billboards, front pages of every US newspaper, and electronic device screens all over the world -- was lavish praise of anyone who ever stood up to him, called his lies, LIES, criticized him publicly (because he can't BE shamed). He ushered in a time when politely -- or at least inelegantly -- pointing out that his behavior, his ridicule, shaming, insults, and all other unacceptable behaviors everyone is taught to never consider, much less demonstrate wasn't okay even if it was how that U.S. president acted. It all moved along swiftly, until everyone around him became LIKE him. They lied for him, insulted others for him and the goober who EVER said, "No!" became something of a hero -- just a foolish one. It occasioned good people looking for work and taking on the aura of sainthood. They just did what they knew was the right thing to do. They were true to themselves and their values. That's the simple shocker!

Jim Acosta, Jennifer Rubin, Ann Telnaes, Michael de Adder, even glassy-eyed Saint Michael Pence -- over Trump's lifetime, THOUSANDS of people -- wouldn't kowtow to him, wouldn't lie, wouldn't

inveigle "alternative truths" or lie about LIES. Every one of them paid a price just to "do the right thing." They knew what they had to do and just did it. Even St. Michael Pence isn't a saint, but the thousands of people Thug-1 has tried and succeeded in ruining are legion, and if thanks are directed to anyone, it should probably go to long-forgotten or never-met families who instilled real values into them. Thank God, too, that unwittingly, they may well have contributed to saving decency, integrity and democracy.

Yes, the time for going along is over. CNN joins the modern major media cesspool of fpotus comforters. Enough of that garbage. If I want lies and disinformation, I'd go to the master, faux "news". Ugh. Thank goodness for Substack.

Well now, a new recruit to the growing Substack family! Good! Jim Acosta served CNN well. It's a sad state when political pressure forces honorable people to make tough choices. Like you Mike, and all the other 'free radicals' 🙃, Jim is joining the rarified air where truth, fairness & a generous dollop of humor live. A bonhomie of good company.
