😂😂 I never critique political cartoons, but...common. Trump can't climb that ladder. 🤣 He'd need a cherry picker. And there needs to be more space for future crossbars. The Mad King's demand for 5% is just today's torturous whim. When he runs out of vulnerable Americans to terrorize, or gets tired of kicking puppies and pulling wings off butterflies, he'll come up with a new NATO demand.

I almost put him in a cherry picker for this reason. But then, a ladder is simpler, and it ius a cartoon.

I know it's ridiculous. [5%]

none of your artistic commentary is "just a cartoon", but simplifying a concept makes sense and does nothing to detract from the message.

Dumpy complains That others need to pay their fair share of NATO costs at 5% or the US is with drawing! When in fact, the US pays only 3%! By going their own way, they are trillions in debt and are deep financial trouble.

Oh, addendum...... In NY Trump never was welcomed in the Billionaires clubs. That's why he feels so powerful now.. He's thinking: "I told you so" thinking about all the people throughout his life who spurned him.. as well as all the people he bankrupted through time with his cons.

Lots to think about here but I felt the importance of what he's trying to do... He & Putin want to make NATO so expensive that countries will have the misery of not being able to pay his demands and quit altogether. Putin has planned this and Trump is implementing things with all his "clout"... He feels so powerful in the Billionaires club now. WOW!!!!

On January 26, 2025, the headline - and the fleshed out article - stopped me cold in my tracks. It was written by Opinion Writer David Ignatius

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"TRUMP'S GAZA REMARKS PUT WILLING ARAB PARTNERS ON GUARD

By firing off too many proposals at once, Trump risks undermining his good ideas with bad ones."

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Its relevance to the defense budget artwork by Michael de Adder is that the Gaza reference is that Trump's brilliant idea is to clear out all the non-Israeli dispossessed, homeless, destitute, whose homes now have the consistency of talcum powder. He wants them shipped to, and permanently relocated in, Egypt which of course would allow Israel to solely rebuild, and occupy that Gaza strip,

which is precisely what Israel wants.

When Donald Trump wants to run the world: it's exemplified by his policy decision about homeless victims, staggering numbers of dead children and whole families and moving the tortured survivors out of mind, out sight, out of the country. Other nations' military will do the transporting, building, heavy lifting, not ours! What IS clear in every decision and executive order he has issued -- ALL OF THEM, TO DATE! -- are on the backs of people whose lives are already impossibly hard. Human suffering is NEVER considered in his sweeping ideas to run the world.

David Ignatius' article is conspicuously lacking a single example of Trump's first-week-in-office

"good ideas." Banishing individuals and families even partially intact -- who have lived their whole lives in Gaza -- to another country would certainly allow developers to build hotels and casinos, full vacation resorts on that prime real estate, wouldn't it! The Gaza strip is the farthest eastern shore of the Mediterranean Sea: worth a fortune.

I would like to see Canada spend 4% for two years and then drop to the 2% number after that. People that know more about this than I do suggest 1 - 1 1/2 is reasonable going forward if we spent the 4% now.

We need a boost to get back on track.

5% isn’t sustainable.

Here's a better defence! .."In a country where french immersion is the ‘wink wink’ of uppity schoolyard moms and a Nordiques sweater gets you a big high five in every province, how long would it take a Canadian NHL Commissioner to give the Quebec Nordiques back to Quebec City? It’s a no brainer. QC already has a state of the art arena, the fan base and a world class regional rivalry with the Habs." https://trkingston.substack.com/p/a-canadian-nhl-commissioner-would
