On Thursday, the U.S. Court of Appeals hit pause on a lower court ruling that blocked Donald Trump from using emergency powers to impose tariffs — meaning his global tariffs and duties on Canadian and Mexican goods are back in play for now. The White House had already filed an emergency motion to keep the tariffs alive, calling the earlier decision “egregious.”
Prime Minister Mark Carney welcomed the initial court ruling but warned Canada can’t let its guard down, with steel, aluminum, and other sectors still feeling the squeeze. Conservative leader Pierre Poilievre did the usual, saying Canada needs to stop putting “all our eggs in the U.S. basket” and focus on building up its own strength and trade ties. I think Carney is trying to do just that.
I got a great idea for how Trump could set tariffs. A roulette wheel has lots of numbers. Just give it a spin!
Yep, that’s Trump’s U.S. government now. 🙄
