If I had seen this frightening depiction during any other administration I would have been shocked to my core…..dystopian impossibility….. not anymore.

Couldn’t have said it better Sherri!

Perfect political statement for the epoch though, thanks for sharing such a sad political portrait!

There are only two words Americans should be contemplating at this time, once spoken by the late Flight 93 hero, Todd Beamer ...... LET'S ROLL!

Horrifying! No longer satire!

🧵 I think I got your deepest meaning:

The ICE guy on the left has the killer’s hair. Nicely done!

——

So let’s say that guy is convicted of at least manslaughter. Federal trial, two-years long. So he gets at least a 10 years prison term.

Trump pardons him when he’s supposedly leaving, in 2029. So the guy serves maybe 2️⃣ years in jail?

In 2029, those kids still have no mom, 😢!

Hopefully they can charge him at the state level where Trump's pardons are invalid. Unfortunately the PBI* are all over the case now. *Patel Bureau of Investigation

Deborah solleveld's avatar

Bureau of incompetence you mean. How many decent agents are still there holding on?

Smash the Hype!'s avatar

🧵I LIKE that, the PBI ! Works for me, 😉‼️

Exactly, add a civil court case to the docket as well. It’s how MLK’s family received fair financial compensation, although $ never can never replace the love and life lost!

He won't be punished.

More likely they will arrest her wife on some trumped up charge.

Gail Stewart-Iles's avatar

I wonder if Trump would bother to pardon him - this is not directly related to Trump, unlike the Jan 6 Insurrection.

I don’t think that this is an exaggeration. 😭

Patrick Daniels aka Cromulent1's avatar

Grim dystopian reality we live under Susan!

Susan Keefer's avatar

It really is. And now, the Trump admin. has frozen food stamps for Minnesota!

Cruelty is the point.

Honestly i don't know where to put myself. MAGA, surprisingly, because they LOOK human, has no shame, no morality.

Wow brutal. True but horrifying.

Thank you so much Michael de Adder. Don’t often have time to comment but appreciate your editorial journalism so much!!! Truly top notch every creation.

This reminds me of the film "Soldier", with Kurt Russell. I know, that is science fiction, but one scene showed something that would have been considered impossible ... till today. Future soldiers shoot at terrorist cardboard cut-outs. One of them slides behind the cut-out of a mother holding a baby. None of the students shoots. Suddenly, either cut-out is shot to pieces. Russell did it. To "kill" the terrorist, he had to "kill" the mother and child.

Smash the Hype!'s avatar

🧵Mm, 😒‼️

Might as well put a shot or two in the baby’s head…. After all, he/she no longer has a mother, 😒‼️

Well done. Sadly it's a very appropriate. Agent Oranges Gestapo. It kills pretty much everything....

Smash the Hype!'s avatar

🧵 “Agent Orange,” that’s great!

Going to have to steal that, if I may!

Jamie Dolan's avatar

By all means. Unfortunately, I'm old enough to recollect it's use in Vietnam.

Have a fine day Sir...

🧵Me too, born in 1960. I remember the casualty reports on our family’s news network, NBC, & their evening news, The Huntley-Brinkley report. Remember the My Lai massacre, etc.

That’s where the joke comes from, of course. And Trump is just as toxic! Maybe more so‼️

Patrick Daniels aka Cromulent1's avatar

Ditto, killed a couple friends, that managed to survive the war. My next door neighbor died from his service, housed by burn pits full of depleted uranium… different war same results Jamie!

Mark Bellonby's avatar

Well done, Mr. De Adder. What is happening is horrifying. The toon is not much of an exaggeration. Will the latest tragedy shame the GOP congress into doing something? Or will more of them ditch their jobs, criticize the state of things they allowed, and retire with their lifetime pensions and health insurance?

Adrienne Kaga's avatar

If only you could have squeezed in the paramilies claiming “I feared for my life.”

Skepticat's avatar

Well, "Like" isn't the really appropriate response, except for the artistic skill, especially as the baby is sure to be next. This maladministration is run by evil barbarians.

So very disturbing but sadly true. Condolences to Ms Good’s family and friends and also to the two folks in Portland
