I love this cartoon. I like it even more now that I know the story.

YOU may find it technically wanting, but you not only captured the sentiment but relayed its essence superbly. And that is true Art.

Indeed, classic! Canada was founded in 1867, but for most Canadians alive today, the Queen is the only monarch we’ve ever known. That kind of continuity is rare, and your cartoon captures it. Thanks for sharing, de Adder!

You may consider it slapdash, but I consider it spot on.

Not every drawn line has to be perfect to express a truth perfectly. Here's proof.

That’s a very interesting story. Such a tight deadline, but you pulled it off. It’s a very poignant work. Thanks for sharing the story behind it!

Michael, you're the first person to ever sprint an entire marathon. And... Her Majesty ankles are perfect, I'd know them anywhere!

It is why we like Bob Dylan's bootleg tapes, or Joni Mitchell's early live concerts captured in her Archives 1. Or a pencil sketch draft by Picasso.

A fine story and great art.

You are a harsh self critic-as is the case with many expert artists. It is a masterpiece of stunning graphic impact and visual storytelling. You rock Michael!

I remember this one well. It was great (as was the “Mayfly” cartoon, another favorite). Your artwork is truly amazing; and even your “rough,” hastily-drawn caricatures are superior to those of any other political cartoonist.

It remains one of my favourites. Thanks for the back-story. It makes me appreciate the piece even more.

You are amazing. Only another artist would understand how all you can see is the flaws. We fans all see your skill, artistry, great thought process of a superb editorial cartoonist, and the love you have for our longest reigning Queen. 🤗

What a great and amazing story! Funny picturing your timer going off every 7 minutes, though I'm sure it wasn't humorous on your end!

You needn't be so critical--it's an absolutely extraordinary feat, only someone with your skill could pull off!

Well done, Michael, on "the best bad drawing" you ever drew!

A solid story...........in the picture, and your sharing the making...........

I know what you went through, I had a guy once who wanted his paper delivered before 6am every week day morning, I had to change my route, it was touch and go, I was 13. :>) Hopefully he recognized my above and beyond effort, I don't remember a gratuity, ww2 veterans were tough.
