I don’t think it’s surprising Elon Musk regrets what he said about President Trump. He seems impulsive. Musk has posted tweets that have moved markets, gotten him sued, or forced his companies into damage control. In 2018, he tweeted “Am considering taking Tesla private at $420. Funding secured.” He didn’t have the funding. It led to a lawsuit, a $40 million SEC settlement, and Musk stepping down as Tesla chairman.
He often makes bold declarations without established timelines or logistics. He promised a fully self-driving Tesla by 2020 and just about every year until now. As of 2025, the technology still isn't truly autonomous. He announced the Tesla Semi truck and Cybertruck long before they were anywhere near production.
He first tweeted a meme about buying it, then actually made an offer, tried to back out, was forced to go through with it, and then immediately began firing top executives.
These cost him money. But a fight with Donald Trump could cost him everything. I’m not sure why people think he’s a great business man. His companies don’t seem to thrive because of him- but in spite of him.
One of the greatest struggles a human being can know is the struggle to master their ego. If I may make a labored analogy, the human ego might be compared to the thyroid gland, and a swollen ego -- were it visible -- might appear very much like a grotesque distended goiter. Musk's ego has brought his empire to the edge ............ Trump's ego has brought America to the edge.
Another clever one! You have the best ideas.
