Robert Reich says Dems should let time run out so that Govt has to shut down and then bargain to get concessions ...but, I'm thinking it may already be too late for that. I am a Canadian observing from a safe distance. I have a terrible feeling that Repugs don't care as they'll do what they want no matter what. After all TACO is already acting like a king {or despot or whatever}. He has SCOTUS on his side and Congress in his pocket. Unless Dems get organized and prepare for a political and legal fight he'll continue to declare constant state of "emergency". With his ICE thugs he'll keep on invading any Dem city, intimidate and terrify citizens, and jail or disappear any opposition. Result: THE END OF THE REPUBLIC OF AMERICA.

Sadly, I concur, as a Canadian resident. That be-yotch in the WH thinks he's the owner, instead of the temporary occupier of the Oval Office!

Republican toadies are everywhere in this administration, like bullfrog tadpoles that have overtaken a clear mountain lake! They force all other species out & eat the ones too small to matter.

A one line caption from you will be appreciated and I know it will be spot on!

Interesting that Trumpolini is asking for funds for Protection of Judges.......but we know only certain judges.......like Supreme Court and right wing judges......

Am I the only grown-up who took deAdder's offer for a one-liner as sarcasm???

IMHO

1-If we can read deAdder's comprehensive summary of the current state of American affairs, we can craft our own one-liners for whatever purposes we have.

2-Spoon-feeding his audience is not an artist's job.

3-At the outset of the cartoon, deAdder includes a caption up, which usually says it all. Today is no exception: "Government shutdown looms".

Loving this cartoon. Bravo, Monsieur!!!

Ain’t that the truth! The same thing is happening with the Kirk assassination.

And, we have Democratic politicians, Dick Durbin, saying that we shouldn’t act like them. 😳

I swear some Democrats are the American Vichy. 🤬

It is pretty clear after the Kirk assassination that the far-right GOP has declared war on the left. This is no longer a civil debate among fellow Americans but a war between ideologies. The Dems chose to cooperate previously, but to no avail. It is time for a showdown and dire consequences. Couple this with the coming economic reckoning, and we're all in for a "slap" of reality.

They only need the foam hands when they’re performing. For daily use they have “blame dems” tattooed everywhere.

I think all those tusks mean that the Republicans elephants are all males. Also known as "BULL" elephants. Larger and more dominant male elephants can be destructive. They also become solitary as they mature. And probably crankier. Witness all the Republicans of advanced age... Someone chose the elephant as the Republican symbol for a reason...

As always the Democrats are the bad guys and the Republicans are here to save you. Republicans can save us by going away!

Actually I remember when Republicans were more reasonable and debated in a civil-but yes sometimes not-but they didn’t threaten to kill people.

The GOP wastes no time and relishes in the Blame game. By the looks of it, they’re already well prepared.

Our certifiable sociopath, Evil-1 (the criminal desecrating our White House, nation, and all once-upon-a-time world-wide friends' nations) won't be happy 'til his personal ICE-gestapo is in every US city, town, and neighborhood shooting at everyone (except local MAGAts) to launch America's Civil War II. His unrelenting inciting violence on everyone who doesn't kiss his ass is desperately dangerous. I want to be the first Caucasian bumped off by his ICE army of restless thugs. Who on Earth would want to live in his murderous country EXCEPT those who wouldn't just get away with murder, but praised for it? Things haven't been this internationally scary since the 1930s: when hell and unspeakable suffering that impacted the entire globe was launched across the pond. Donald Trump is making Hitler's embryonic 'early years' look almost benign.

Excellent, as usual. Perhaps a version with Democrats, but the glove would have the middle rather than the pointer finger extended? I'm actually kidding because that's crude, but I actually want the Dems to let the so-called government shut down. It isn't as though it's doing anything but mucking up everything anyway.

Restore funding or shut down. Let the MAGA party wear The One Big Beautiful Albatross.

"Sad" doesn't cover it. It's desperately TRAGIC: the start of something likely to be hell on earth to more than the U.S.A.

Dennis Reynolds's avatar

If they were being honest, the Republicans would have been extending their index finger...

Love how they all look exactly alike…..

I wonder how many will carry an indication of blame (signage or pin, sticker etc) at Kirk's funeral Saturday?

Republicans like to stick out their chests & crow in the safety of their WH digs, or in front of a predominantly Right-supporting media scrum, but are curiously evasive if a punctuating question is asked requiring an immediate unqualified response! 🔥❌️
