ya know, I wrote that to Michael kind of spontaneously. but I'd in fact already thought about publishing a commemorative book, just one full of journalistic photography & quotes from the amazing judicial opinions currently coming out of the lower courts. I have background in book design & multimedia design too, i figured once we come out the other side I'll seek funding for the project. now I'm trying to imagine if that book could work if it were combined with the utterly amazing political cartoons of Michael & his ilk? hmm, food for thought 🤷🏻♀️
I think political cartoons are essential for historical documentation. That's how one can understand what was going on during complex times without having to read mounds of history. I remember seeing political cartoons from other eras, especially Teddy Roosevelt's time. Good ones can crystallize an issue and imprint on your memory!
I too, would love that idea of a coffee table book. Michael’s images depicting the insanity of donnie is the only safe images to show generations to come. Photos of the reality we are facing would haunt them.

Still to this day, I am haunted by films in high school history class of the concentration camps and the men, women and children malnourished and their blank expressions. I don’t think this is the history anyone would see depicted in a cartoon situation. Michael’s ability to create the story without the gorey.

Michael have you seen Iran's lego propaganda win? I suspect you'll appreciate the rich & multi layer symbolism, however view at your own risk. The fact that it's closer to truth than current US propaganda is tough to stomach 🤮. compare to the glorified video game bombs-as-entertainment montages the 💩 clown regime puts out: Imho says all we need to know about where this is going.

I have one of Aislin cartoons from the era of René Lévesque, Mayor Jean Drapeau, and the 1976 Montreal Olympics. It’s a treasure.
