it's therapy for those of us surviving this abusive "daddy", and hopefully keeps ALL of us from being paralyzed by fear & his Gish Gallop of chaos.

It does help to LAUGH AT perpetrators, oppressors and creepy invasive types.

Like the Gulf War? Like Irak? Petrol, petrol, petrol everywhere. Trump Petrol or Trump Oil, yet another of his many failed businesses? Plus distraction from Epstein, from the budget cuts, from the tariffs ...

He will love anyone's flag, especially if it grifts him more of anything.

Great cartoon, Michael.

The issue with Venezuela dates back to Hugo Chavez, the dictator (2007-2013) who nationalized oil production . Oil companies hovered around Venezuela like dogs in heat, particularly Chevron. Yes, the same Chevron who lapped up Saudi Oil when oil was discovered in the desert after WWI.... When Winston Churchill assumed the Saudi desert was oil-less. Good old Winston made it point to screw the other WWI allies, French and US, when dividing up the Middle East with their new country names.

Maduro succeeded Chavez and he wasn't any better in terms of a dictator.

The wiki article on Chvez is great historical reading.... Even the Heritage Foundation is mentioned as a Chavez foe. Project 2025? Follow the money.

What’s new? Those in active addiction (oil co’s, producers, investors,)will do anything to get their drug.. in this case, OIL and the $ and power it gives them.

from what I've read so far, the oil companies aren't very enthusiastic. They'd like to be reimbursed for their losses when their facilities were nationalized, but not sure of the current infrastructure AND the type of oil isn't a type they can convert into gasoline. (It works for diesel, though).

So while they may be part of the Greed Machine, they appear to also be sane & think ahead.

Point well taken. This is why the decision to take over Venezuela is astoundingly stupid. The oil co's won't go in unless it's a good investment.
