My mother died in 2021- you may have read the obituary.

I was talking to somebody on New Years Eve about my mother’s molasses cake. I’m pretty sure it’s based on a local Nova Scotia recipe.

She’d make it and we three boys would take hunks of it with a giant glass of milk. It would last not more than 24 hours.

Coincidentally I think I just pulled it out …
