After 37 years with CBC, Information Morning Moncton host Jonna Brewer retired last week. I was born in Moncton, and grew up in Riverview.
Known for her love of storytelling, Jonna’s work has resonated with audiences across the region. She’s currently a finalist for a 2025 Atlantic Journalism Award for her radio documentary Hunter Remembered, which explores how deeply young people need to feel seen and valued. Back in 2015, she and the CBC Moncton team were honoured with the RTDNA’s Atlantic Peter Gzowski Award for best News Information Program.
She’s leaving behind a remarkable legacy—and a microphone that won’t be easy to fill. I have been interviewed by her at least 3-4 times. Usually because I was recently fired.
