Remember that feeling you got when the second plane hit the twin towers and you realized what was going on?

You should have that same feeling again right now.

I’ve had it since his first election. What about those complicit with this disaster? Cowardly Congress?

How painfully, sadly, and infuriatingly true.

All this excellent cartooning AND a history lesson?! You must have had some incredible Maritime schooling!

Some leaders need repeated lessons. And some just stick to wallowing in their fever-dream delusions, no matter what.

The People are slow to act-- they think it will sort itself out. But sorting it out REQUIRES the People to act, even when they would rather look away, or want to avoid risking the lifestyle to which they hope to become accustomed, or the one that they already enjoy.

My dad used to say that "nothing worth having is achieved without clear purpose and some difficulty."

Tyrants do not just "go away." They and their networks have to be weeded out and sent packing for a very long stretch in a very unpleasant, high security incarceration facility, with ALL of their ill-gotten gains used for social, wellbeing, education, and public infrastructure programs.

The alternative is unthinkable, but also preventable. If we care enough.

It is funny if it wasn't so sad.

What happened to Mussolini.Himself and his mistress were hung from a lamppost.

How I wish.!!

It started with Nixon, but really took off under Reagan and his repeal of the Fairness Doctrine, which lead Murdoch to pollute the airwaves with Fox News.

So, yes, we need to root out fascism (Trump et al.) but those roots have long runners.

I'd be lying if I feigned any surprise. Just another day of smearing our politics abroad.

We are having that sinking feeling as the ICE thugs travel this once great country taking us back to the 40's & the birth of Hitler's Germany.

Mussolini came to power in 1922, Franco in 1939, but really in 1936. Mussolini's rule was ended by the Allies in 1945. Franco's rule ended with his death in 1975. Facism prevailed in Portugal from 1933 until 1974. (info courtesy of Wikipedia, Brittanica, and Google's AI.)

Bringing back fairly recent historical movements that ended in disasters for the subject nations, as well as other nations directly affected by their actions.
